International T14 Transmission
Specs, gear ratios, oil change interval and warranty
International (Navistar)
The International T14 is a 14-speed automated manual transmission that International designed in-house. International sells it as part of the S13 Integrated Powertrain in the LT, RH, HX and HV series. Full torque is available at 900 rpm, and 13th gear is direct drive. On highway trucks, the transmission warranty is 60 months or 750,000 miles.
International (Navistar) published the International T14 figures in its own documents. Last reviewed November 3, 2026.

What should you check before you spec or buy a truck with the International T14?
- Remember that the T14 is sold only with the S13 as the Integrated Powertrain, in the LT, RH, HX and HV series. It does not pair with another engine.
- Ask a dealer, or read the owner's manual, for the oil type, capacity and interval. International's page does not state them.
- Confirm the warranty for the series in writing. International lists 60 months or 750,000 miles for the LT and RH transmission, and different terms for the HX and HV.

What fluid does the International T14 use, and how often do you change it?
International's T14 page does not list an oil type, an oil capacity or a service interval. It says only that the T14 has an integrated oil cooler and advanced lubrication. Use your owner's manual or an International dealer for these.
| Oil type | Not stated on International's page |
|---|---|
| Oil capacity | Not stated on International's page |
| Cooler | Integrated oil cooler, standard |
International's T14 page gives no service interval, so there is no interval table for this transmission.
- International says the T14 shifts with an electronic clutch actuator that does not use air from the truck's air system.
- Ask an International dealer or read the owner's manual for the oil change interval that matches your duty.
Put your International T14 service on a schedule with the maintenance scheduler. If a warning light comes on, decode it with the fault code lookup.
What warranty does the International T14 have?
Warranty, as the maker lists it
- LT and RH transmission: 60 months or 750,000 miles, whichever comes first
- LT and RH clutch: 36 months or 350,000 miles, whichever comes first
- HX and HV transmission, clutch and factory-installed transmission PTO: 36 months with unlimited miles and hours for rear axle ratings under 52,000 lb; 24 months with unlimited miles and hours for 52,000 lb or more
Which engines and trucks go with the International T14?
International sells the T14 as part of the S13 Integrated Powertrain, which is a 12.7-liter engine rated up to 515 hp and 1,850 lb-ft. The S13 and T14 are available in the LT, RH, HX and HV series.
Fitted in the International LT Series, International RH Series, International HX Series and International HV Series.
What International (Navistar) claims
- International says the T14 is the industry's most compact 14-speed and the lightest and shortest in its class. It gives no weight or length.
- International says the LT with the S13 leads the on-highway aero category in fuel economy by at least 5% in its testing against three competitors. That is a company claim about the whole truck, not the transmission alone.
What is not published about the International T14?
- The T14's weight
- Oil type, oil capacity and oil change interval
- A torque rating for the transmission itself
- A price. International sells it as part of the truck's spec.
There is no public, independent failure-rate data for any heavy-duty transmission, including the International T14. This page does not rank reliability. It lists what the maker publishes: ratings, ratios, fluid, service intervals and warranty. For a used truck, ask for the service records and check the oil and clutch history.
How does the International T14 compare with other transmissions?
Each transmission guide on this site follows the same format and the same sourcing rule, so you can read the International T14 next to the others. We do not name a winner.
